The result is a comprehensive self defense system that is enjoyable to learn, practical and most of all - 100% effective! This is the CORE principal as developed by Bruce Lee! The same style as taught by Bruce Lee himself in the three martial arts schools that he founded. Gain confidence, flexibility, endurance, focus and life-saving self protection skills. Nationally recognized ranking. History of Jeet Kune Do (JKD) Founded in 1962 by Bruce Lee. Lee's original martial arts style was Wing Chun Kung Fu. He was taught by Yip Man. Lee found the art to have serious limitations so he decided to make modifications to the style and add the best techniques from other arts. He made the moves of Wing Chun more fluid and combat oriented. He added techniques from American Boxing and French Fencing. Lee was a great fan of boxing champion Mohammed Ali and utilized Ali's punching techniques in developing the Arc Punch and Flick Jab. Lee believed that as soon as you are attacked you should compliment the opponent's actions instead of using direct force against force. This way the smaller or weaker, yet, quicker defender is not at a disadvantage. World Jeet Kune Do Federation founded by Professor Carter Hargrave Click here for the WJKDF WJKDF MERCHANDISE, TRAINING DVD'S AND MANUALS ARE AVAILABLE THROUGH MASTER HOWARD. |
Learn self protection using an everyday walking cane. The cane is the only self defense tool (weapon) that you can take anywhere! You can even earn a black belt! The Story of the CANE. In acient Egypt everyone from royalty to the common laborer had one. In fact, one Pharaoh was buried with 132 of them! Early in the 1700's London gentlemen were required to obtain a permit for the privilege of carrying one. And, in the late 19th Century, the finest design houses of Europe and the U.S. - such as Faberge and Tiffany, offered exquisitely crafted ones for both men and women. What could have such great appeal through the ages? THE CANE! Grand Master Shuey says, "It's the most practical weapon a martial artist, or anyone, can learn. What other self-defense tool can you carry on a plane or take into a restaurant or casino? Try getting nunchuka past airport security! And, if you think about it, what good is learning a weapon if you can't take it anywhere." JULY 12, 2008: Wall Street Journal.
